“The Odd Couple” Costa Rica – Nicaragua
Arrival to Juan Santamaría International airport, a bilingual driver-guide will be waiting for you to take you to their hotel. Your clients will receive a welcome-orientation kit that will include maps, hotel descriptions and, a comprehensive itinerary as well as emergency contact numbers. Meals on your own. Overnight at the Bouganvillea Hotel.
After an early breakfast, transfer first by road and later by boat to Tortuguero National Park. Upon arrival, check-in at Laguna Lodge, Pachira or Mawamba Lodge. Afternoon activities including a boat tour to explore the area. All meals included.
Full day to explore this beautiful and remote national park, considered by many a small Amazon Jungle. Overnight at Laguna Hotel or similar. All tours are included, visit to the National Park and boat tour on the narrow canals to see wildlife.
Early breakfast and a boat transfer will take you to the local airport for a short flight (25 minutes to San Jose) Upon arrival, transfer to Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Check in at Fonda Vela Hotel.
Full day to explore Monteverde, visit to the Monteverde Reserve and optional visits to the Sky-walk (hanging bridges etc). Overnight at Fonda Vela Hotel or similar.
After breakfast ground transfer to Rincon de la Vieja National Park. Check-in at Buena Vista lodge. Afternoon for optional activities such as canopy tour, horseback riding or why not, sliding on a ½ mile water slide. Overnight at Buena Vista Lodge.
You will start this day with a vigorous hike on the active volcano slopes to finish with a mud bath and thermal waters on the local spa. Overnight at Buena Vista Lodge.
This day you will cross the border to Nicaragua to the colonial city of Granada. A drive of approximately 3 hours will take you to this unique city built nearby the biggest lake in Central America, Nicaragua Lake, also very well known of the unique species of animals, including the fresh water shark. After check-in at The Alhambra Hotel in Granada, walking city tour to visit the magnificent cathedral and other buildings.
This day you will be visiting the Masaya Volcano, one of the three volcanoes in the world where you can access to the crater by car. After exploring this area, especially the amazing old lava flows, visit to the town of Masaya and the world-wide famous handicraft market. Return to Granada for dinner and overnight at Alhambra Hotel.
After an early breakfast, transfer to Granada local airport for a direct flight to San Jose Costa Rica. Check-in and rest of the day free to explore San Jose. Overnight at Bougainvillea or similar.
Transfer to the airport for your flight back.
